Home-office collection combines task lighting and modular organization across two retail channels

A task lamp and tray system were developed with coordinated finishes, distinct safety evidence and packaging sized for direct-to-consumer and store delivery.

Program brief

The collection needed to feel coherent on a desk while the two products followed very different engineering paths. The lamp required optical, electrical and hinge validation. The trays required nesting control, insert fit and scratch protection.

Shared and separate decisions

The finish board established one warm gray family with realistic boundaries for anodized aluminum, powder-coated steel and textile inserts. Branding placement followed a common quiet rule, but performance documentation remained product-specific.

Direct-to-consumer cartons received additional edge protection and a simpler opening sequence. Store cartons prioritized compact case packs and clear barcode visibility. Both formats used the same approved product revisions.

Result

The buyer launched one visual system without pretending the engineering was identical. Packaging, web content and release records could point to the correct evidence for each SKU and channel.
